Frequently Asked Questions

What is Wolverine Society?

FAQ Button

The Wolverine Society is Michigan NIL Collective and Wolverines Community that unites boosters, fans, alumni, and athletes in a way never seen before. Our team will provide Wolverines fans and business partners with a safe, legal, and transparent platform to directly support the athletes they cheer on yearly.

How does The Wolverine Society Work?

FAQ Button

The Wolverine Society will support Michigan athletes in several ways. We will enter into Name-Image-Likeness Agreements (“NIL Agreements”) with Michigan student-athletes and utilize those publicity rights by promoting the student-athlete on our website, social media, at Wolverine Society events, and in other ways.

We will build the Wolverine Society through our Wolverine Society Community Season Pass. This pass will provide access to the country's most engaged Wolverine community, complete with unique content, the ability to connect with fans across the country, submit and vote on proposals, and much more!

In addition, the community will partner with national and local Michigan businesses and assist in partnering Michigan student-athletes with those organizations that best fit their goals as a Wolverine. Finally, we are open to one-time and annual donations from anyone wishing to support Michigan athletes!  Contact us here for more information.

Does The Wolverine Society comply with local, national and NCAA rules?

FAQ Button

Yes! Under this Act, individuals or entities acting independently or “collectively” may compensate a student-athlete for the license of their publicity rights. The Act prohibits regulatory bodies, such as the NCAA, from infringing upon the student-athlete’s right to receive NIL compensation. Finally, the Act bars the NCAA from penalizing University of Miami and its athletic programs for any activities it permits.

The Wolverine Society is a limited liability company in good standing.

Is Wolverine Society an “official” entity of Michigan?

FAQ Button

No. Under the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletics Compensation Rights Act, a NIL program must be a separate legal entity from a university – the Act prohibits universities from being parties to NIL Agreements with student-athletes. However, the Act explicitly allows communication between the Michigan and the Wolverine Society. It authorizes Michigan to facilitate student-athletes and Wolverine Society engagement.

How can I get more involved?

FAQ Button

Whether a current Michigan student, alumni, fan, or business, feel free to contact The Wolverine Society directly and express your desire to assist. This is a family effort, and we need Michigan fans worldwide to be involved in carrying out the mission of the Wolverine Society.
